Meet our wonderful teachers

  • Mrs. Strong

Patti teaches our Pre-Kindergarten 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Monday - Friday class. Mrs. Strong was the first teacher hired by our school when it began in 2003. She has been teaching for 20 years. Mrs. Strong loves that “light bulb” moment when a child learns something new, especially when a child learns about Jesus. Mrs. Strong graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2004 and continues her education with S.T.A.R’s accreditation every year.

Patti enjoys teaching her preschool Sunday School class as well as leading the preschoolers during Vacation Bible School every summer.

  • Mrs. Gatlin

Beth teaches our Kindergarten class. She has a degree in early childhood education. For the past 30 years she taught kindergarten through third grade at Shorewood Christian School in Seattle. The thing she loves most about teaching is having the opportunity to listen to the children's dreams as they learn to express themselves and their imaginations. She loves to read to them, hopefully instilling in them a love of books and learning.

  • Ms. Deanna

Deanna Gatlin teaches our Pre-Kindergarten 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday class.  She has enjoyed teaching this age group off and on for a total of 12 years.  She really enjoys watching their young minds learn new concepts and watch them mature and grow by making new friends, learning how to share, and learning how to express themselves.  Deanna has 2 girls of her own.  The oldest is 14 and going into 8th grade and her youngest who will be in 3rd grade this year.

Teaching is what Deanna believes is her calling in life and she enjoys every minute of teaching.  She is excited to teach, learn, and grow right along with her students.

  • Miss Becca

Becca teaches our two Preschool classes. This will be Becca’s third year teaching Preschool and she’s so excited to start the school year and meet her students. She graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Communication Studies. Since graduating she’s been serving in a multitude of places within the church from Sunday School to Awana to Youth Group. She loves every minute that she gets to spend with the youth of the church. It brings a smile to her face as she gets to watch these kids learn more about Jesus and grow into who He has created them to be.

Becca is looking forward to walking alongside her students this year as they all learn and grow together. She’s delighted to start this new journey and see all that God has planned for the year ahead.
