Meet our wonderful teachers

  • Mrs. Burmaster

Janice very much enjoys teaching our two 3 & 4 year old classes. Mrs. Burmaster has been teaching for over 20 years, including 12 years at Christ Lutheran Child Care and 8 years here at Solid Rock Christian Preschool. Mrs. Burmaster was certified in Early Childhood Development in 2006 and continues her education every year with the S.T.A.R's certification program.

Janice enjoys teaching the 3 and 4 year olds as a Co-Director of the Cubbies in Christ the Rock's Awana progam; as well as participating in the annual Christmas Dessert Theater and worship team at Christ the Rock Community Church.

  • Mrs. Strong

Patti teaches one of our Pre-Kindergarten classes. Mrs. Strong was the first teacher hired by our school when it began in 2003. She has been teaching for 16 years. Mrs. Strong loves that “light bulb” moment when a child learns something new, especially when a child learns about Jesus. Mrs. Strong graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2004 and continues her education with S.T.A.R’s accreditation every year.

Patti enjoys teaching her preschool Sunday School class as well as leading the preschoolers during Vacation Bible School every summer.

  • Mrs. B. Gatlin

Beth teaches our Kindergarten class. She has a degree in early childhood education. For the past 26 years she taught kindergarten through third grade at Shorewood Christian School in Seattle. The thing she loves most about teaching is having the opportunity to listen to the children's dreams as they learn to express themselves and their imaginations. She loves to read to them, hopefully instilling in them a love of books and learning.

  • Mrs. D. Gatlin

Deanna Gatlin teaches one of our Pre-K classes.  She has enjoyed teaching this age group off and on for a total of 8 years.  She really enjoys watching their young minds learn new concepts and watch them mature and grow by making new friends, learning how to share, and learning how to express themselves.  Deanna has 2 girls of her own.  The oldest is 11 and going into 6th grade and her youngest who will be in Kindergarten, in Mrs. B. Gatlin's class.

Teaching is what Deanna believes is her calling in life and she enjoys every minute of teaching.  She is excited to teach, learn, and grow right along with her students.
